Subject: snack ideas?

Anybody have any snack ideas that don't contain nuts? I can stick to healthy eating plan until nighttime. I love having something crunchy while watching tv. I've tried crocheting and pc to occupy my mind but the kitchen has a powerful voice. lol. Any ideas?

Mary Jane

Mary Jane,I know just what you mean. I crave CRUNCHY too.I am not much of a raw veggie every night girl .I was just reading in the SOuth Beach Diet book about roasting garbanzo beans as a healthy crunchy snack. I haven't tried yet. I like Them, I really like Hummus, so maybe they will be good. I'll let you know unless you try them first.Roasted Chickpeas (phase 1)1 can 14-19 oz. chickpeas rinsed and strainedPreheat oven to 350 degreesF.Spread the chickpeas on an ungreased baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 50 min. or until browned and crisp enough to rattle.{as for myself I might have to add a little flavor. Maybe shake some spice on while warm}Deb
