Beautiful face, personality, and total appearance - does dress fit, does hairstyle complement child, etc. Judges don't need instruction on how to recognize those things. I am a normal pageant mom with a child who models well and I don't want her scored less because of it. At Queen of the Crown, they claim to be total package but they really truly are it's modeling, face, personality, overall appearance. CJ is not! CJ is face and personality. Just another AUE/Glamour Girls situation. I would expect more from Cara since she competes her own girls. If you call it total package then make it total package or don't. I can assure you that I also fully address different kinds of modeling with the judges, and no one will be scored off for modeling - good or bad. The criteria is all there in the judging instructions. Like another poster said, if you look at the winners from last year, you can see that no one was scored off for great modeling. It is very hard to separate an excellent model from personality & stage presence. Great models typically HAVE personality and stage presence. I have gone to great lengths to explain exactly what I want in the judging instructions. I appreciate constructive criticism as this poster has provided - I do not take this as bashing or ugliness. We surveyed the contestant moms after the pageant who overwhelmingly voted to continue using ordinary people rather than going to circuit judges.
