Subject: Enduring appeal of the original SPEED RACER series

There never was before and never has been, since, an animated series with the enduring charm of the original SPEED RACER series. When I was a little kid back in the late sixties, my day simply was not complete without watching it. It was like an animated soap opera for kids. The drama was terrific, the characters were all so superbly defined, and then there's the major reason I tuned in every day to watch: Speed was a babe and a half! With big blue eyes and a handsome face that predated Jake Gyllenhaal's by nearly forty years! To this day I'm a pushover for guys who resemble Speed!

I'm not married. Well, I'm just being honest and I'm the site owner. Yes, you are right on all counts and a big thanks goes to to Peter Fernandez for the "retooling" of it! A very talented man as well as Tatsuo Yoshida and his staff.

Rick

I agree that Speed Racer is a gem of sixties cartoons but I would also like to mention a close second, Jonny Quest as being up there with Speed Racer.
