GETTING HANDBOOKS SENT FROM THE U.S. TO AUSTRALIA -- Annapurna (Hopeful...heheh....), 14:42:17 08/13/09 Thu [1]

Hello lovers,

I'm currently an (almost) retired psychotherapist working in Australia, and I was in Cornucopia for a magnificent year in the late 70's with my young daughter.

These methods never get old, and I have some people whom I am currently teaching the methods, but I don't want to give away my precious copy of the Handbook.

I have found some second hand "Handbooks" on Amazon, but they are private people who do not ship to Australia. Is there anyone out there to whom I could have them sent, who would then forward them to me? I think it is time I did some workshops also, as a community offering, as the level of psychic pressure in our current world situation seems to beg some concrete help.

I have heard (true or untrue?) that there is quite a bit of mail stealing in the U.S., so it might be someone with a post office box?

I will be so grateful if someone could please help.

Yours in Living Love.

Annapurna

Living Love Method Facilitators in Vancouver, B.C.? -- Kathie (Peacefully hopeful), 10:03:20 06/06/09 Sat [1]

Hi Kathie,It's great to share the Handbook with people, but the next time you get one, hang on to it, as they are getting harder to come by. ;-) If you can't find one, e-mail me at my contact address listed on the home page. Please put Living Love in the subject heading. The concise commentaries on the Pathways on the homepage are extracts from the Handbook and should be helpful untill you find a Handbook. For information about contacts in your area I would try Roedy Green at roedy@shaw.ca He is a long time Living Lover and was good friends with Ken. He is in B.C. and may know of local people. His website http://mindprod.com/livinglove/livinglove.html has a contact list and I think you may have luck there. You can also start your own group if you like. I have ideas and materials to help with that if you're interested. The Living Love Way is very profound and transformative. The more you use the Methods the more they work. If you would like to dialogue on this forumit would be fun. Thank you and good luck finding/starting a group. Let me know how it goes. ~ B.

New finding -- sault (interested), 07:40:15 05/10/09 Sun [3]

As I've been struggling lately with my own happiness, I keep going through the motions of work, housework, yardwork, and then more work. I'm also planning my wedding, which yes, is stressful, but should be joyful too, shouldn't it? So, I haven't been able to snap out of it and then this morning a book has "fallen", "been knocked down by one of the cats", "appeared" in my view. A yellow book entitled "Prescriptions for Happiness". I don't know where I got this book, how it found its way into my collection, or how it ended up sitting there trying to get my attention. But it did, and I will begin reading through it today. I live in Oregon and googled Ken thinking I could head over to Coos Bay. Sigh. I guess it's better to be late than never show up, right? Thanks for the forum.

HI,I'm glad you made it here to the forum. I am on my way to work now so I will post a longer note tonight. It can indeed be stressful planning a marriage and being married too.;-) I will post the text of "Your Hearts Desire: A Loving Relationship." By Ken Keyes Jr., soon as a wedding present to you. Ken is gone and the school is too but you can find most of his books on Amazon. And there is enough of the system on this site to give you a good foundation to start with. You can breath in the word "Living" and breath out the word "Love" over and over as a sort of mantra to soothe jangled nerves. Itworks for me! More later. ~ Babaluie

Babaluie, Thank you for putting together this sight. I was just introduced to ken Keys Jr books a few days ago. I am on my second reading of Higher Consciousness and have enjoyed this methodology. I know that the school is no longer running but is there a way for people to become certified in teaching these methods, I would like to learn and apply these methods in my consulting/ministerial practice, any advice would help thanks.

[> [> [> Re: New finding -- Babaluie, 19:46:25 05/13/09 Wed [1]

Hi Elijah,Thank you for your kind words. The Handbook is great and it will inform and inspire with many readings. I myself wanted to take teacher training but it was not to be. At this time I know of no way to get certified but that should not discourage you from learning the methods and sharing them with others. But there is one caveat. I do not think that one could charge for any service that one provides using these methods, if one does not have certification. I know this because Ken was very determined that the people he certified had passed his demanding standards and were using the methods in their own lives to a high degree. And it took many workshops before one was certified. But I think you can benefit from this system's methods in your work of helping others. So, to that end, I highly recommend in addition to the Handbook, reading "How to Enjoy Your Life,Inspite of It All". It devotes an entire chapter to each Pathway and is a classic in it's own right. I also suggest getting "Gathering Power Through Insight and Love". It presents the whole system as it was taught at the Ken Keyes Center. There are DVDs of workshops available at www.happinessmall.com costing around $12 each. I have not done business with them but I think they are legit and I do have a lot of the workshops on VHS and they are excellent. I also recommend reading "Discovering the Secrets of Happiness" by Ken, where tells his life story and how he created the Methods. Very inspiring! You will have to find these books on Amazon as they are out of print. But they are worth having. Please keep posting and keep me informed how it goes with you. P.S. If you do reply to a post, it helps if you delete the post you are repling to, so the board doesn't get cluttered up.~ Thanks ~Babaluie

Ken's Book: "Enjoy your life in spite of it all" -- No name, 07:13:36 02/16/09 Mon [1]

I've just started to read Ken's book "Enjoy your life in Spite of it all", although I have had the book sitting on my shelf at home for well over ten years!! I have dipped into it previously but found it quite 'heavy' going so would put the book back. However, I am now reading it with new insight and it really does make sense.

I'm just wondering if any workshops or meetings are held in England, specifically in London and if there is a way to get hold of other books written by Ken Keyes.

Thanks.

Hi there,"How to Enjoy your life" is an excellent companion to "The Handbook to Higher Consciousness." The best place to find Ken's books are on Amazon. They are out of print now. The person to talk to about workshops is Andrew, he lives in England and had a great L.L. web site. It is not happening at present. His e-mail is inossence@aol.com He might be able to help you with books too. Please post whenever you like. ~Babaluie

Hello.

I attended several workshops in Coos Bay and went to the vision center in Bellflower with Ray and Marty. I miss all the loving energy and I am wondering if anyone is still doing workshops or meetings based on the living love principals. I would like to connect with others who still do anything with the living love methods. I live in southern California near Riverside.

Hi,
20 years ago I was in therapy and I mentioned having tried self help books and the therapist suggested Keyes book. I didn't stick with that therapist, but I got the book. I keep coming back to it in times of stress and find the approach helps me "get a grip" on reality.

It's a matter of remembering to use the pathways and methods as soon as possible. And you can't really lose, because the stressful situation may or may not change in the moment, no matter how much effort you put into changing it, but you can always put a little energy into changing your internal head space. If you can ever get a copy of "How to enjoy your life, inspite of it all" it will be of great benifite to you because of the many profound insights into each of the 12 Pathways it provides. Please feel free to post here as often as you like.~Babaluie

Hi Bob G.I'm not sure what you mean by taking "Babaluie" in "75"It was a nickmname given to me as an infant because "I Love Lucy" was so popular and Ricky used to sing Babalu, which got an uncle calling me that and it stuck.~ Bob

Living Love is International -- Philcut, 03:53:55 01/06/09 Tue [1]

I recall taking the Living Love course in Pittsburgh around 1974 at a hotel near the airport. There were three or four instructors that used a bus to travel around the country. I drove my van to the meetings and slept in it to save some costs.

Our class was a very good size and had a very good balance of men and women of all ages. I have set up various Holistic sites on the Internet and linked to this Forum at http://philcutrara1.tripod.com/mind.html where you can see a database of over 5,000 sites for growing and living the true way of life.

Happy Thanksgiving -- George, 17:03:19 11/26/08 Wed [1]

Even though it seems I am monopolizing the last few messages just wanted to share something that I found profound. An excerpt from the Handbook to share for Thanksgiving -

"The meaning of hear and now is beautifully illustrated by a Zen story of a monk who was being chased by two tigers. He came to the edge of a cliff. He looked back -- the tigers were almost upon him. Noticing a vine leading over the cliff he quickly crawled over the edge and began to let himself down by the vine. Then as he checked below, he saw two tigers waiting for him at the bottom of the cliff. He looked up & observed that two mice were gnawing away at the vine. Just then, he saw a beautiful strawberry within arms reach. He picked it and enjoyed the best tasting strawberry in his whole life!

Although only minutes from death, the monk could enjoy the hear and now.
Our life continually sends us “tigers”–-and it continually sends us “strawberries,”
But do we let ourselves enjoy the strawberries? Or do we use our valuable consciousness worrying about the tigers?

Notice that the monk fully responded to the physical danger in the most intelligent way. He ran from the tigers—and he even scrambled down the cliff while hanging onto a vine. And having done this, he remained fully in the here and now to enjoy whatever life offered him. Although death was only minutes away, he did not let thoughts of the future terrify him. After doing everything he could do, he used his precious consciousness to fully enjoy every moment of his life.

There is a saying. “A coward dies a thousand deaths; a brave man only one.”
For all of us, death is a part of our future. But we do not have to become what the existentialists refer to as the living dead.”

We can always find things we can magnify to threaten our security, sensation, and power addictions. Or we can consciously perform whatever action is needed and then turn our attention to enjoying everything we have to enjoy. And we always have enough to be happy if we are enjoying what we do have and not worrying about what we don’t have.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you George, for the apropos message. It also relects on the fifth Center of Consciousness - Cornucopia. There is a Living Love saying - " Life is perfect for our growth or our enjoyment." Growth when we work on our selves when we don't get what we want, and enjoyment when we emotionally accept what life gives us.I hope we all have a lot of enjoyment this Thanksgiving.AWULL~ Babaluie

I went to Coos Bay for a week on December 1991. I met there Ken and Penny and the unconditional love envirnonment Ken created there. The experience I had there was awakening. I bought almost all Ken books and I continued until these day practicing the Living Love method.I created for me a walking meditation repiting Ken 12 pathways that helped me mantain balance and wisdom to deal with very difficult situations in my life. I am very excited to know that now other people are recognizing Ken incredible wisdom and that we can share about practicing the Living Love method.

Welcome aboard Maggie!Great to hear that you improvise and taylor the Methods to your own specific needs. I do the same. I like walking and saying "Living" on the in-breath and "Love" on the out-breath. There are other inovations I use that I can mention at a later date. If you have others, let us know about them. Stress seems to be a constant these days, but I guess it's always been like that to some degree. Using the the Methods to stay centered helps those around us also. You may like to check out Andrew's site to see if you can recognize anyone from the time you were there.Wishing you the very best and please post as often as you like ~ Babaluie

Any of us left and why... -- John Hurbon (Lovesharedtoday), 21:45:17 04/15/08 Tue [1]

In a brief few hours at the Northwest YMCA in Tucson, Arizona this past Saturday, April 12th, 2008. I kept a volunteer committment and stayed in "lovesharedtoday" mood/state of mind. Given back more than I could give...played "The Puppy Song" and "If You're Happy and You Know"...Wow, did I know love and it knew me and the people knew love, I saw it, I felt it. The sun echoed its warmth throughout the afternoon and embraced us all in the joyful sights, sounds, smells and holding of hands. Danced the YMCA and the Chicken Dance. Pursuit of happiness ? We caught happiness and laughed right along with it. Any of US left? I have to say so...lovesharedtoday ... a musician from Benson, Arizona...
