Subject: New finding

As I've been struggling lately with my own happiness, I keep going through the motions of work, housework, yardwork, and then more work. I'm also planning my wedding, which yes, is stressful, but should be joyful too, shouldn't it? So, I haven't been able to snap out of it and then this morning a book has "fallen", "been knocked down by one of the cats", "appeared" in my view. A yellow book entitled "Prescriptions for Happiness". I don't know where I got this book, how it found its way into my collection, or how it ended up sitting there trying to get my attention. But it did, and I will begin reading through it today. I live in Oregon and googled Ken thinking I could head over to Coos Bay. Sigh. I guess it's better to be late than never show up, right? Thanks for the forum.

HI,I'm glad you made it here to the forum. I am on my way to work now so I will post a longer note tonight. It can indeed be stressful planning a marriage and being married too.;-) I will post the text of "Your Hearts Desire: A Loving Relationship." By Ken Keyes Jr., soon as a wedding present to you. Ken is gone and the school is too but you can find most of his books on Amazon. And there is enough of the system on this site to give you a good foundation to start with. You can breath in the word "Living" and breath out the word "Love" over and over as a sort of mantra to soothe jangled nerves. Itworks for me! More later. ~ Babaluie

Babaluie, Thank you for putting together this sight. I was just introduced to ken Keys Jr books a few days ago. I am on my second reading of Higher Consciousness and have enjoyed this methodology. I know that the school is no longer running but is there a way for people to become certified in teaching these methods, I would like to learn and apply these methods in my consulting/ministerial practice, any advice would help thanks.

Hi Elijah,Thank you for your kind words. The Handbook is great and it will inform and inspire with many readings. I myself wanted to take teacher training but it was not to be. At this time I know of no way to get certified but that should not discourage you from learning the methods and sharing them with others. But there is one caveat. I do not think that one could charge for any service that one provides using these methods, if one does not have certification. I know this because Ken was very determined that the people he certified had passed his demanding standards and were using the methods in their own lives to a high degree. And it took many workshops before one was certified. But I think you can benefit from this system's methods in your work of helping others. So, to that end, I highly recommend in addition to the Handbook, reading "How to Enjoy Your Life,Inspite of It All". It devotes an entire chapter to each Pathway and is a classic in it's own right. I also suggest getting "Gathering Power Through Insight and Love". It presents the whole system as it was taught at the Ken Keyes Center. There are DVDs of workshops available at www.happinessmall.com costing around $12 each. I have not done business with them but I think they are legit and I do have a lot of the workshops on VHS and they are excellent. I also recommend reading "Discovering the Secrets of Happiness" by Ken, where tells his life story and how he created the Methods. Very inspiring! You will have to find these books on Amazon as they are out of print. But they are worth having. Please keep posting and keep me informed how it goes with you. P.S. If you do reply to a post, it helps if you delete the post you are repling to, so the board doesn't get cluttered up.~ Thanks ~Babaluie
