This is addressed to three threads/issues, the one about messy rooms, about buckle ends of belts, and baring. First, I have always thought a room was a kids territory. I can see getting upset if it isn't dusted or vacuumed as instructed, but why not tolerate the mess as long as the door is kept closed? Second, a hand or hairbrush seems more than adequate to bring even an older child to tears. Isn't a belt too much? Finally, most all the spankings I saw, (and there was a family I knew that spanked almost every day so I saw a lot,) spanked over clothes, though they used a fly-back or novelty paddle. They might have flipped up a skirt, but wouldn't have taken the time to bare. Yes, I am a softie.
