So whats with the uniforms? I see a number of players out there with no elastic in the bottom of thier pants, it looks terrible, cant the Cheetahs provide thier players with a decent pair of pants to play in? This is professional baseball isnt it? Also, the jerseys, why is it that the sleeves on the jerseys all go past the players elbows? Almost every jersey looks huge on every player. This team is looking very ordinary in thier outdated and wornout uniforms.

I can't speak for ownership and management, of course, but I believe the long-pants look is the players' doing. Some of the Cheetahs and other FL players sport the Jackie Robinson, lots-of-sock look too.

Also, let's face it, this is the Frontier League. You know in A and AA ball, the players get basically the same choice in uniform sizes (S-M-L-XL, off the rack stuff) but many of them tailor the unis after they get em. Even major league players are only allowed two or three sets of home and road unis per season, they buy the rest of their own. And their stuff is tailored too. If I was getting $1,200 a month or whatever these guys get, I'd probably skimp on the clothing customization too.

I know what you are trying to say but you missed the point. When I was talking about the pants, there are guys playing with pants that look like sweat pants. I am yet to see a visiting team come to town that look as bad as the Cheetahs do in thier uniforms - so why do the visiting teams look so good? By the way, a Veteran (who is usually the highest paid player on the team) makes $1,200 a month, just imagine what the Rookies are getting in this league.

In regards to the uniform issue, there are some teams in the Frontier League that don't mind spending "a lot" of money on uniforms. But some teams would rather spend it on talent, promotions, community relations, etc. So would you rather have a team that looks good, or a place to come and have a good time within the community? And remember these guys aren't out here for a fashion show, they are here to play baseball!

You got it, Gal. You know I went to the Chillcothe game a week ago and they had local advertising on the practice jerseys. Like I said it's the Frontier League, and the Cheetahs don't look shabby at all. I am glad they put emphasis on the product, too.

I believe that a team that looks put together, plays as a team together. If you look at the players, there's no uniform dress code. Some players wear their socks up, others wear their pants long. I think that the managers/coaches should at least make it mandatory that all the players wear their uniforms the same way for a more organized look.

The cheetahs are currently in last place in the Western Division. Of the last 10 games, they've only won 3 of them. The more games the team loses, the more people go to other venues such as Jackhammers or Flyers since they are closeby as well and the less people in the stands in Crestwood to watch them play. I saw it happen before. And if you look at the Hammers or the Flyers, they are all dressed uniformly, not players wearing their uniforms in different manners

I hope this isn't the last year for baseball at Hawkinson Ford Field as was almost the case last year

Who are you anyway? When did you play for the Cheetahs? They look fine to me and probably a lot of other people too. Maybe your baseball career ended so you can better serve society with your other talent, fashion design.

Gone are the days of the high knee socks. Either the players want to be somewhat comfortable with what they wear or not look too goofy and be made fun of.
