There are going to be some big changes this year. Also we are waiting for pictures from our national photographer. When they are in we will get them posted. Please keep in mind that while I also run the Beautiful Stars of the Midwest pageant and photo contest that BSMW is NOT a part of ABP in any way. American Beauty Productions is a community service, non-for-profit, personality pageant. BSMW was intended to bring a more glitz type beauty pageant to IL. I am not saying that there will not be the same appearance and community service opportunities as with ABP because there will be but the focus and scoring will be totally different. I myself compete in all types of pageants and have coached for 10 years now and I know how easily it is to get a impression set of how things are with a system and since ABP and BSMW are 2 totally different systems I want to make sure everyone knows they are separate and keeps them that way. That is why there are 2 separate websites. ABP has never been a beauty pageant or a “just for fun” pageant. It has always been intended as a serious title for those who wanted to use it to help their platforms and make a difference and you needed to be a total package to win. Money has never been a factor with ABP as well. BSMW will NOT have speech as part of your scoring in any way. There will be line-ups just like a normal beauty pageant. Those who have done ABP know that we did everything different from most pageants in order to try and help the contestants do their best. While most that competed loved our way of doing things I do think it may have scared many off as well who are used to traditional pageantry. BSMW will be very traditional. I will still have fun and a party because those who know me know that I can’t have a pageant without all of the extras.

In closing, I have read for years on boards and heard from Moms that they would love to have a fun, honest beauty pageant. I will not do any name calling but unfortunately many directors do not get into pageants because they love them or the contestants. They do it for the money and unfortunately when huge sums of money are at stake as it often is in the big glitz systems the pressure can lead some to do things that are less than honest. My intention in creating the Beautiful Stars of the Midwest was to create a regional pageant that was a traditional beauty pageant with all of the flash but with honesty and integrity you could trust. I have been a director since 2000 and have directed for local state and national systems. I am pretty much one of the oldest if not the oldest director in this area. So with that said I hope you can feel comfortable knowing you are going to get a fun, honest pageant for your hard earned money.

The BSMW 2010 pageant is currently scheduled for March 27th but we are still considering another date.
There will NOT be a 2010 ABP nationals for America’s Beautiful Star or Miss All American Achievement pageants
There may or may not be America’s Beautiful Star or Miss All American Achievement pre-lims in 2010
I will be holding the Lake County Sweethearts pageant on Feb. 20th in Grayslake, IL ($35.00 to enter)
I may or may not be running some smaller local town pageants.
