The 53 state representatives vying for the title of Miss America 2015 begin their journey tonight in our nation's capital before heading to Atlantic City! While in Washington, DC, the contestants will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can advance Miss America's focus on accessibility to and affordability of higher education, with an emphasis on STEM.

This year, five young women pursuing education in STEM related fields will be awarded $5,000 scholarships each to further their education. Tonight, the 10 finalists for those scholarship awards were announced. They are Miss Georgia Maggie Bridges, Miss Hawaii Stephanie Steuri, Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn, Miss New Hampshire Megan Cooley, Miss New Mexico Jessica Burson, Miss Ohio Mackenzie Bart, Miss Oregon Rebecca Anderson, Miss Puerto Rico Yarelis Salgado, Miss Texas Monique Evans, and Miss Vermont Lucy Edwards, featured here with Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, MAO Chairman and CEO, Sam Haskell, and Kevin Latek of Gray Television. On Tuesday, the Class of 2015 will visit our Nation's Capital!
