Hi Summer. I got bullied mercilessly and incessantly until I ended high school, and even again in the work world until I was in my mid-20s, and learned how to deal with it.
It's a tough subject, but all I can say is that society is becoming more tolerant, so hopefully this will be less of a problem as time passes.

I think you are right on the mark if you think your son would be happier as a girl. At his age, he really has to follow your instructions, so I would suggest setting up some time and a place in his comfort zone where you can dress him up and see how he reacts. Based on my own life experiences, I think he will love you for it, and you will see any unreasonable behavior on his part subside also.
