Hello and welcome, I hope you feel comfortable here.

Seven is a good age. I was about seven when I began to realize that society's definition of 'boyish' didn't apply to me. I didn't want it to either.

I enjoyed my legos and erector sets, but hated sports and frumpy boyish clothes. I much preferred dresses and the whole sensation of being feminine.

Kudos for allowing your son to chart his own course.
