Hi April,

Dad was only in our lives once every year or two. The divorce between Mom and him had been a bitter one (I wonder sometimes if that helped Mom push me towards girlhood). Dad was an airline pilot who moved out of the country shortly after the divorce to make better money we didn't see him often. By the time I was in high school and dressing regularly, he had remarried and had my baby brother on the way. He didn't find out about it until after I graduated college at which point he blew it off as 'experimenting' with sexuality.
