Erin, no one should berate or belittle their kids, because the kids are not 'boyish' /'girlish'. My 10 year old 'son' (AFAB) is on the hockey team. (He is a boy, but there are two girls on the team.
My AMAB 'daughter' is a cheerleader for the youth football team. The cheerleaders loves to talk about the boys on the football team. I love to kid her that he loves the quarterback.
