George Cravenho


Born and raised in Taunton, Mr. Cravenho lived in Easton and Attleboro for many years before moving to South Yarmouth where he lived until moving to Halifax in 1995. He recently moved to his daughter's home in East Dennis due to illness.

Mr. Cravenho was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton and was a member of the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was the retired owner of Factory Shoe Mart Inc. in Dennisport.

While living in Easton, he was a member of the board of selectmen, former North Easton Water District, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1047, Easton, and past commander, member and past grand knight of the Easton Council No. 238 Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are five children, George D. Cravenho of Kingston, John E. Cravenho of Westport, Conn., Richard F. Cravenho of Dennisport, David M. Cravenho of South Yarmouth and Mary Ann Cravenho of East Dennis two sisters, Sister Lillian Cravenho, SSD, of Warren, R.I., and Bella McLean of Taunton two brothers, Joseph Cravenho of Taunton and Edmund Cravenho of Oregon seven grandchildren several nieces and nephews and his companion, Mildred "Millie" Stone of Halifax.
