Dear friends,

I found this topic very interesting, as well as your comments. I don't consider myself experienced in English teaching, since I've been working in a different area for years, and regarding to this I've been kind of procrastinating… After this course, I think it's time to go back to class and share some knowledge with others. When I read Antonio's post I remembered the time I've been enrolled in an e-learning English school, where the student's productions could not be reported in real time. Instead, the writing couch used to send me feedback messages containing the texts I produced with writing editing remarks, I mean, using the table of symbols Antonio mentioned. At that time, as a learner, I really enjoyed this method, as I could rewrite or embellish the text and submit it again. The results were always very positive.

I guess many of you have already created your own table of symbols, but in case of not having it yet, this is the one I got familiarized with… It's just an example:

Writing Editing Remarks

AG=agreement (I AM, she IS)
AR=article (a, an, the)
C=capitalisation
CO=combine sentences
D=delete
EX=expression or idiom
I(x)=insert x
MW=missing word
NS=new sentence
NSW=no such word
PH=phraseology
PL=plural
PO=possessive
PR=preposition
PS=part of speech
PU=punctuation
SI=singular
SP=spelling
VT=verb tense
WO=word order
WW=wrong word
x>>y=change from x to y
