Yes, Gustavo. We agree that teaching genres in a deductive way (in which students are asked to find the examples of sample language of a determined genre by themselves rather than being given them by the teacher) is more productive. Students can then be more autonomous, because they themselves are responsible for discovering characterestics of specif genres.

Your activity with recipes is very interesting and by doing it the way you described, you make your class more student-centered and you may have your pupils engaged in a very motivating task!
