How can you dis Led Zep, and what songs did they not write? Hendrix did his share of Dylan Covers but he did write his own music. And to compare Nonpoint and the Deftones to legends like those of Hendrix and Zep is just ignorance! Down tuning is an easy way to write music, you don't even have to play chords. When was the last time you heard a good guitar solo, I mean a memorable one. THey are few and far between these days! MUsic runs in a cycle, todays music is a lot like the music gap of the late 70's to mid eighties. And once again there will be some one that will start a trend of good music just as REM and U2 did in 87'.
