I was not at the pageant and what I have been told is merely speculation and rumor. I will spare you those details on a public message board. Apparently there was some sort of auditing SNAFU at the Miss High Desert pageant and Jodie was incorrectly crowned. After the drama last year of crowning extra titleholders due to auditing errors, the new policy is to simply correct the mistake. Consequently, the title was taken from Jodie and awarded to the girl who actually did win. A sad situation for ALL involved I am sure.

After reading your post, I checked out the "correct" winner's picture and bio on the website. I have never met
the current winner, however, I have met Jodie W. and know
that she is a very sharp, articulate girl who I know would
have done well in interview and she is a rather good ballerina from what I remember. I don't see how she lost
to a monologue and from the pic posted, Jodie would have scored much higher on swimsuit. Curious who the judges were...does anyone know? Were they certified?
