The new team name is Mississippi Surge, colors are blue and gold (remind you of the old Pensacola team?) When someone asked Walby what would be the mascot, he said it was being worked on. Not sure about radio coverage but maybe B2 coverage again. He was trying to sign a familiar face or two but most had other commitments or aspirations are elsewhere (Europe, etc.) but he was hoping to get someone from the last year or two. The cup they play for is the "President Cup". Most games would be Thurs, Fri., Sat. with a game (maybe he said a few) on Sunday. Walby didn't say these words but cost would be much less that last year, don't remember the number but well over 100 nights stay out of town vs 21. Some of the rules are different, he will have to polish up on them, no affiliations with an NHL team. The schedule should be complete and ready for release July 21 (I think that was the date).I know there is more and some of the words I use are not exactly what Walby said but this is the jest of the general meeting. There was a bigger turn out than expected, WLOX was there so I know there will tv news. There was a twinge of hockey feel in the air - can't wait for October. Go Surge!
