Well, in the spirit of disagreeing with you two (or just you, T-Wo, since I don't know goose, apparently.), I think we have an okay chance. The object isn't only to have the highest attendance, but to have accommodations, attractions, ROOM for the attendance to be higher for that event. For instance, Pensacola and Texas are no more, but their fans are still around. I bet just the two groups there could be half of the sales for this event. People from Southaven will come down. People from Lafayette, Shreveport...places they have hockey and they USED to have ECHL hockey. Mobile, Jackson. I think the committee will understand that while we might not be able to pack those people in for regular season games, this is a much bigger deal, worth driving for.
The effing Stanley Cup would be here.
Not to mention, it hasn't been "Down Souf" since 2003, and that was Florida...so barely what I would call the South.
It might be nice, too, to let the league show us that they welcome us back after our hurricane-induced hiatus.
