I agree that travel time is difficult on a body, but it can't be blamed for our P10 record. It's really pathetic.
I think something seriously has to be done in the coaching department. I've never been one to blame the boss for the every action of his employees...in any business, but these guys are allowed so much more here than they rightfully should be getting or WOULD be getting anywhere else. And it's really affecting their play in an obviously very negative way. I really believe that it's hurting many of these guys for their future hockey career. NOW, that being said, you have guys like Cruthers who is there early to every game and works hard. (of course there are more, this is an example.) When you see that they're not ALL going to take the initiative and do their jobs well, I think it becomes the coach's position to step in and make them. The 15-17 lazy ones are hurting the ones who do work.
I'm not a big Munce fan, but, for instance, his record is damaged every night that our defence chooses to sleep on the ice. (and that's almost every night.) When their shots triple ours and he's let two by and loses...he's the better goalie, right? But he gets that big fat "L" on his record. The other guy gets a win and didn't have to work as hard for it. I know the team loses...the team wins, but you don't see a defenceman's stats including the number of losses he's 'committed'.
I've taken this in another direction. What I mean is, when there are clear problems and effective solutions, the continuation of the problems becomes the fault of the person who fails to implement the solution.
That person is usually removed.
