50th Reunion Information

From Leigh Emery in Decempber, 2011:

The Doubletree is available on Sept 28, 2013 and I reserved it for us today. I will follow up on the time line for anything we have to do to keep that.

I met with Oliver Knight, the Director of Catering at DoubleTree, this morning regarding our inquiry for a reunion. He normally would charge $6,000 minimum for the ballroom but was willing to drop that to $4,000 for me. That would mean if we had 80 attendees each would have to spend at least $50 on drinks and the meal. Not bad I think. There is a 22% service charge on top of that. We would have a choice of buffet or sit down. The buffet (3 buffet menus) at $50 a person for > 50 people ($52 a head for under) and there are is a good selection and would be of better than average quality, they have a good chef and the events I have planned there before had high satisfaction on the food. There is a clam bake buffet option but that is seasonally priced and was $70 a person this year. It includes chowder, steamers, a maple glazed chicken and lobster, corn on the cob etc. Dance floor etc.

On the rooms he would give us a $99 a night rate, maybe $89 for a min of 10 rooms confirmed 30 days prior to the night at no risk. We could up the rooms if warranted. I don't recall how many friends we actually think would attend at this point. Do we have a number?

The Regatta bar is fairly roomy but we would not be able to reserve a portion, it would just be bar and bar menu or dinner as a regular group of friends meeting.
