Subject: Latest REUNION Information

THE WHS 50TH REUNION

is fast approaching and we want to make sure we have given you all the pertinent information you need at this point in time.

At the present, we are expecting 73 people to attend of which 45 are our classmates. We feel this is a pretty good percentage for our class and we are still hoping to have a few more that are on the fence. If you know of anyone still not sure about coming, please convince them we are doing our best to make this a fun and memorable 50th reunion.

The cost of the reunion in its entirety is $15.00 per classmate and $85.00 per guest. If you have submitted your $60.00 deposit and you are bringing a guest, you will owe us an additional $40.00 which you may submit to:

Gordon Rowe, 35 Hollywood Drive, N. Grafton, MA 01536 by July 12th, 2013.
Make the check payable to: WHS 63 Reunion
On the "Notes:" section of the check, please indicate if the money is for: 1) reunion balance; 2) bus tour; 3) reunion balance & bus tour.

If you are a classmate coming alone and have paid your $60.00 deposit, then thru a considerably generous donation towards your meal, we will owe you $45.00. If you have a need to have this monies returned, it will be available the night of the reunion. However, we hope the monies already submitted by you will go to the scholarship fund set up for a worthy WHS student (class of 2014) from the class of 1963.

With the mailing of your balance (if applicable) we are requesting that you make it clear to us or directly to John ( JElberfeld@aol.com ), how you wish your name to appear on your name tag and that of your guest, if including. This needs to be submitted regardless so that John can make name tags appropriately spelled and nicknames intact, if noted.

Starting with Friday night, for all those available whether staying at the hotel or nearby, many of us will be in the bar at the Doubletree from 6:00 on and hope you will join us for a coke, coffee or a cocktail. Nothing formal, just an opportunity to say “Hi”!

You are welcome to join those staying at the Doubletree for breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Breakfast is included for those staying at the hotel and available to visitors at a reasonable price.

Also, we wanted to note that the interest in the football game and the golf outing was too low to justify making a reunion “event”. However, if you want to arrange something on your own or with friends, the phone number for the Westborough Country Club is 508-366-9947. We will post a football game schedule as soon as we are able to obtain one.

We are still planning on the town/school tour (our high school on Fisher St.) on Saturday afternoon from 1:00-3:00. For all those interested, it is a cost of $20.00 each which includes the driver’s tip. We have a 29 passenger bus and had about 20 folks sign up for it on the original survey. We hope to spark more interest as time gets closer. The school tour portion will be about an hour and will be led by a current teacher related to one of our classmates.

The cost of the tour will be $20 per person. The first 29 people who send in their money to Gordon Rowe will be on the bus. Send your check to:

Gordon Rowe, 35 Hollywood Drive, N. Grafton, MA 01536
Make the check payable to: WHS 63 Reunion
On the "Notes:" section of the check, please indicate if the money is for: 1) reunion balance; 2) bus tour; 3) reunion balance & bus tour.

as soon as possible to guarantee your seat.

Saturday evening’s festivities start at 5:00 PM with a reception in the hall just outside our “ballroom” where the official reunion proceedings will begin at 7:00. There will be cheese, crackers, fruits, veggies and dips provided for you to nibble on before your main meal and a cash bar set up with bartender. The meal will be a buffet with a choice of beef, chick, fish, and healthy veggies.

At this time, we are also looking for a volunteer(s) who is an experienced PowerPoint user to create a presentation with old photos of classmates during our elementary or high school years only, the town, and any photos you may have of our teachers or the school you think would be appropriate and enjoyed by the class during the reunion celebration. Once a volunteer is found, we will give contact info as to where to send your photos, etc. If you are interested in taking on this project, please contact John Elberfeld at jelberfeld@aol.com.

We are also looking for a leader who can select and direct a committee to create a collection of classmate biographies and stories. As a leader, you might ask, “What have you done (that you want to share with your classmates) in the 50 years since graduation?” The end result might be a printed booklet or the info could be posted on the web. You would need to let people know the format (or get permission to post the information) as many people are wary of placing too much personal info on the Internet. Again, you could let John Elberfeld know if you are interested so we do not have duplicate efforts.

If you have any additional ideas for reunion related projects that you are willing to lead and be responsible for, let John know. It is YOUR reunion and the more people who contribute, the more fun it will be.

We all look forward to seeing so many of our friends return to “our” town and the reunion. If you have any further questions, please let anyone on your reunion committee know and we will try to respond quickly!

See you in September!!!
