Subject: So, I have a JAG related question......

I was surfin' around and came across a JAG site that struck me. Ok, so not the site itself, but a group of people within the site. What got me, was that this small group of people actually *HATED* the Harm character. I am not saying that Harm was just not their favorite character…..they actually HATED him.

I have to ask……… Why would you watch a show you say you love, that is centered on a character you hate?

I am not stupid, I know that there are a lot of people out there who watched JAG because they followed other actors or they liked other characters better. I get that, really I do. But to HATE the main character?? Dislike I can maybe understand, but HATE?

Harm was such a huge part of the JAG show, how do you get past that? How do you just skip by the parts that he was in? If you did that, there isn’t much left.

Again, I am not dumb. I know there are fans out there that follow the show for other characters. But still...Hate?

Oh, and I am not talking about just non-shippers. The ones who would prefer that Harm found a romantic partner with anyone other than Mac (and conversely, the people who wanted Mac to find a romantic partner with anyone other than Harm…). This group of fans is a group that I can completely understand.

As much as I was not a 'fan' of some of the characters on the show, I did not hate any of them. Each and every character on JAG brought something to the show. Even Palmer. I wasn’t cheering him on by any means, and I really wanted Harm to 'get him', but I didn’t hate Palmer. He was a good character.

Ok, so rant done for now LOL... I would love your perspective on this. As to why someone would watch a show that they say they ‘love’, that completely centers on a character you ‘hate’.

Oh, and please, please, do not bash the actors who play the roles. The actors have nothing to do with my question ... this is solely based on the 'Characters'. Thanks...

My only thought is that they must be jealous that the actress they 'love' doesn't have the starring role in the series and isn't the main character. Just like on the IMDb site there are certain posters who never fail to write very nasty and unnecessary comments about DJE, so why do they bother to go to his page at all if they can't stand him??? Same with JAG, why would you bother to watch the show, if you "hate" the main character. Can't figure people out!!! lol!!

This was proved when JAG could not continue without Harm. Of course we all had characters we disliked (in my case Lukovic) but they all added spice to the series. [> Wow, that's just crazy! I never would be able to watch a show with one of the main characters that I HATE. I would never be able to do that. There was one character on JAG that I honestly hated...Volkuvic...he made my skin crawl. As much as I love Mac/CB had JAG:SD been a show with Vic...I honestly would not have watched it.
