Subject: A chat with the Franchise


{After the commercials end, we see two wrestling announcers sitting at a newsdesk ala Sportcenter. }

Jim: Welcome back. Just last night, our own Tom Dwight had the privilege of sitting down with The Franchise Troy Martin. That's next in our Friday Conversation.

{Intro to the segment begins and then the scene cuts away to playing clips of Troy Martin's past matches. Perfect Strangers is playing in the background.}

Tom: Franchise thank you so much for being here.

Franchise: Thanks it's great to be here.

Tom: So tell us, because I'm sure everyone wants to know, why did you leave the NCW?

Franchise: Wow. Not wasting any time are we? {Laughs.} Well it's pretty simple. I never wanted myself to sound like a hippocrite, and that's what I was by calling myself the Franchise of NCW. We all know it was the Sandman who had been there the longest, it was the Sandman who was deserving of it. So I needed a place to call my own, my home, my company. That's when Goldjet called me up...

Tom: And the rest is history?

Franchise: That's right. {Laughs}

Tom: So you've done well in the brand new NECW so far.

Franchise: It's pretty competitive I'll admit, but I think I've done enough to get by.

Tom: Big test for you this Sunday at MSG against Psycho Donkey?

Franchise: Very much so. He's a violent guy, and he knows how to hurt you. I really expect a bloodbath, I mean you talk about big test, this one's the Final Exam as far as I'm concerned.

Tom: What about all of these stables popping up? The SideShow is getting pretty big and they're recruiting as we speak.

Franchise: Well that's all fine and good, but if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, the larger the group, the faster it falls. Nobody wants to admit it, but there are egos in this business. Everybody wants to be the man, and it's only a matter of time before it all falls apart. {Clips of the nWo and Corporation are shown} I mean, look at the nWo, look at the Four Horsemen, look at Degeneration X and the Corporation. You don't see too much of them anymore, why? Egos. That's why.

Tom: So you're saying you don't have an ego and that the Triple Threat is stable? (Pardon the pun of course.)

Franchise: Of course. Well no. Of course we have egos in the Triple Threat. I know I'm the Franchise, Triple X knows he's big buff rough and tough, and then there's Big Jonny Steam. So yeah we think highly of ourselves, but not to the point where this group will disband any time soon. {Clips of the famous battle between Triple X and the Franchise are shown} We're out for each other, and we're out to win. Even if we have to fight each other, we'll give each other the hardest damn match and then shake hands and drink a beer or two afterwards.

Tom: Well said. So what's up with Sharon? It seems people are involving her again.

Franchise: Well it's expected, trust me. I think we can deal with it, of course to a certain extent. {Clips are show of Sharon and Troy on the beach in Miami} But we don't mind, we're happy together and it's all that matters to me.

Tom: So any last comments before we go?

Franchise: {Looks directly at the camera} Donkey, this Sunday we're going to war. I respect, but that's it. The rest you have to earn, and I'm sure the same goes for me. But Sunday, make no mistake, it's not about Sharon, it's not about the NECW, the NCW, it's not about the Triple Threat, it's not about the SideShow, it's not even about me or you. It's about the World Heavyweight Championship. I want, you want it. Only one of us is going to walk away with it. I plan on having a heavier bag at Laguardia Airport in New York, cause a 10 pound piece of gold and leather will be with me. See you Sunday.
