When they start trying to explain to the parents why they do what they do I was blown away. No excuse. We do not attend majors anymore. My daughter is in OC and still will occasionally compete but it’s just for fun.

Her mental health has greatly improved and her love of dance returned when we changed to a supportive but not forcefully competing school.

So many dancers hurt them self over dance. Eating disorders, mental health problems, and practicing to the point of injury or even when injured is not ok.
