Everybody knows that Brazilians are very different from Americans in many aspects.
Americans tend to value productivity, results, competition, and as it was discussed in the class they believe they can build their destiny in order to take the most advantage of it and became successful people. They also value youth and beauty.
In Brazil it is very different. Most of the time we do not fight for what we want and we accept what happens with us without questioning. In this point we could be different and maybe think of being just as Americans are. On the other hand, they are so selfish, so self-centered and we aren´t, we are good to each other, we help strangers, we cooperate. Sometimes we do not really want to cooperate, what we really want is to take a kind of advantage or a favor for helping but the truth is that we aren’t as selfish as Americans.
In Brazil, there is also a belief that beauty and youth is to be valorized just as Americans do.
But there are many things that we Brazilians do and believe that aren’t nothing for Americans. And these things are very important. We are friendly, we like to help, and something very important, and we value happiness. Ours and other people happiness. Even if it means that we are good to lose a good position at work or something like this and as a Brazilian I believe it is a great Value!
to Brazilians.
