In Brazil, people say the education (the teaching) is not good, not to say "bad", but I have a different opinion, I think it's good, not good enough to have brilliant students, but enough to a country in development. It's true that the teachers are bad paid, and schools structure in some areas (like northeast and rural areas) are deficient yet.
The most searched careers are medicine, law, and as says the statistics, the public service.
Medicine is because being a doctor shows status. Law is searched because people say you can earn a lot of money, if you'll be a good one.
Then, being a civil servant, you have a good and right wage every month, and that's enough!
