In my country we have high school and university, just like in your coutry, what I think that is interesting is the expression College that is equivalent to university in US and here in Brazil it can be considereted a false friend, because we have the word "colégio" that is equivalent to high school.
At the university, the most searhed carrer is medicine. In Brazil we have a kind of a test to enter at the university, called "vestibular", that involves questions of general knowledges and questions involving especific knowledges and to be a doctor you have to study hard, because the test is very competitive and difficult.
