When God made the world, he only gave two virtues to men, so they could thrive.

- He made the Swiss to be studious and law abiding people.
- He made the English to be organized and punctual people.
- The Argentines, annoying and arrogant.
- The Japaneses, laborious and disciplined.
- The Italians, cheerful and romantic.
- The French, cultivated and elegant.
- The Brazilians, intelligent, honest and "petistas" (petista= someone who appreciates or is a member of the PT - Partido dos Trabalhadores, the party of our president Lula)

The angel took notes and full of respect and humility, asked God this question:

"My Lord, to all people of the world you gave two
virtues, but you gave three to the Brazilians! It will
make them superb compared to the other peoples on
Earth, won't it?"
"Very well observed, my angel!" Exclaimed God.
"That's true! Let's correct it."

"From now on, the Brazilians (who live in my heart)
will keep these three virtues, but none of the Brazilians
will use more then two virtues simultaneously like the
other people!"

"So the person who would be 'petista' and honest,
couldn't be smart. The one who would be 'petista' and
intelligent, couldn't be honest. And the one who would
be honest and intelligent, couldn't be 'petista'."


This joke is funny for us Brazilians because it deals
with the situation of our president Lula. He is
"petista" and most people criticize him because he
doesn't have a graduate degree. Also, there's some
prejudice against Argentines.
