River Oaks PD Action today

River Oaks Police Department

At 2:28pm Officers of the River Oaks Police Department were dispatched to White Oaks Lane in reference to an emotionally distraught man with a gun in the back yard of a residence.

Officers responded and were able to establish a perimeter. Our crisis negotiator, Lt. Bruce Mosley was able to make contact with the individual and successfully talk him into surrendering without incident. As a precaution the schools were made aware of the situation and appropriate actions were taken by the district.

The River Oaks Police Department would like to thank the officers from the Westworth Village Police Department and the CISD Police Department for their valuable assistance. The emotionally distraught person was taken into custody and was transported to a mental health facility for evaluation and treatment. Lastly I would like to thank the citizens for their patience and understanding while this situation was unfolding.
