Subject: Here is what River Oaks PD does for us everyday.

04/06/19: Patrol officers caught an individual in the 1800 block of Inspiration Lane going through mailboxes. Further investigation revealed the suspect had numerous items of mail in his vehicle that he had already stolen. The suspect was in possession of a handgun and an AR-15 rifle. He was also found to be in possession of 15 grams of methamphetamine. During this investigation officers learned that the suspect was a previously convicted felon. The suspect was charged with possession of methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm. Detectives will be working with the U.S. postal inspectors to determine additional charges and to return the stolen mail to the rightful owners.

04/06/19: Investigators obtained a search warrant for a business located in 5000 block of River Oaks Boulevard in reference to illegal gambling occurring at that location. Investigators seized four, 8-liner “slot machines” and multiple other pieces of evidence showing that illegal gambling was occurring at the location. This investigation is ongoing and Investigators are working with agents from the Texas Alcohol and Beverage commission to determine if any other administrative violations exist.
