Subject: Synopsis of EDC Meeting June 10, 2019

Meeting started on time. All members present.

First item was to award Kris Franks 65,000, the second payment of his BIG grant. The board felt at this time he had met all obligations according to their agreement.

Second item was to approve another 6,345 to pay for the road repair and replacement for the road behind Kris Franks' building.

Next item was to go over plans for Print Media Advertising for our city. Discussion was to do either a 16 or 32 page magazine to pass out at local businesses,mail out or have available for new citizens. This is still in the planning phase

Next item was consideration of new board appointments. It was stated by Dan Chisholm there was six applicants. The board at this time has four council members and they want to get back to only three so Joe Ashton resigned. Also board member Linda Morgan resigned. No open discussion or names of the six candidates was given. It was just voted on by secret ballot. The two names with the most votes was Charles Richardson and David Bedford. EDC board selects its own members. The rest of the boards in our city are selected by the mayor.

Last item on the agenda was discussion of a new sign on Roberts Cut Off at Inspiration Point. It was found out by survey that a piece of land as you come into our city by Roberts Cut Off is in the City of River Oaks. So the proposal was to put up a Welcome to River Oaks sign on once piece of this pie shaped property. Although its in River Oaks the property is owned by the City of Fort Worth. Fort Worth's numbers guy wanted 19,000 for this small sliver of land. Our board didn't feel it is worth the expense and requested FW City Council consider giving us that piece of land. It was suppose to be an agenda item on this weeks FW City Council Meeting. No word yet.
