His son had quite obviously gotten his booksmarts from his mama. Sphinx himself was a cunning SOB--when it came to the things he knew, like evading the cops or participating in illegal activities. School just hadn't been his thing.

He couldn't help but grin when the kid reveals his title. "Bet your ass you are!" He responds, and it's obvious that he was over the moon about what El had made of himself.

He waved away the kid's response to his attempt at fatherhood and resulting abandonment. It was nice to know he thought that way about his precense....it brought on a small sense of comfort, though miniscule when compared with the enormous guilt he carried. "I screwed up, plain and simple. No skirtin' round that."

He was glad when El's phone beeped. He could talk about his lack of efficiant parenting skills til he was blue in the face, and it wasn't about to change the past. His interest lay in getting to know the individual in front of him, all over again.

He blinked, once in suprise when he found out his ride had been high jacked all the way back to the old headquarters. And then, he couldn't help but laugh. "That girl's a pistol, ain't she?" He shook his head. That lil' thing had some guts. "Balls of brass, takin' that car." The hemi that thundered under the cars hood made it's value in the six figure range. He hoped she'd at least been kind to the ol' girl.

For a long moment, he considered Elden's offer of the pool house. He'd had no intentions of staying there when he'd arrived...but then, he'd assumed Sasha would still be living here. Knowing she wasn't, he thought maybe the idea was a good one. It'd put him close at hand to get to the see his son. There was a lot of ground that needed to be covered between them yet.

"I'll take ya up on that." He says as a crack of thunder booms overhead, and the sky begins to dribble. Any second, it would open up and they'd be drenched. "I'll follow you!" He says as the rain slowly gets harder. He moves to the boss, unlocking it and getting in. It'd been a while since he'd driven a newer car, and had forgotten that they weren't exactly built with men of his stature in mind. He moves the seat almost all the way back and adjusts the mirriors before firing up the ignition and following El out.
