Elden glanced at his father, as he continued to insist he'd been no kind of father. He shrugged a shoulder in response "No, there's no denying you screwed up. And bad... It seems you'v given yourself enough grief over what you did. I don't need to give you any more." The man was here to repent, and El appreciated the gesture. He wasn't planning on forgiving all and welcoming the man with open arms, but neither was he going to be cruel and harass him about his past mistakes. If he decided to tell his ma, he knew she'd give Sphinx enough shit for the both of them. Right now he was just tired and wanted to go home. He gave a snort and a half smirk as Sphinx spoke of Des "Yep. I think if you hadn't been who you are, you might not see them again. She doesn't always think before she does shit... Convinced her ass is gonna bounce every time she falls" She hadn't done anything truly stupid while he'd been away, he'd kept tabs on her, but he was concerned with how she was acting today. Elden nodded and pulled his keys from his pocket, patting his let for Ice to heel. He made his way across the parking lot, letting his mind wander as he did. He wasn't sure what he was getting himself into. He knew he was going to have a hard enough time re-acclimatizing to being a civilian. He knew he'd have to deal with his feeling for Des eventually, though he'd been counting on having those three months without her around to prepare himself. Now you throw in his long lost father, and the need to feel the man out and make a decision on him... And all at the same time, without even a day to separate them. He unlocked the door, careful not to let his other keys scratch the paint as he did. He motioned Ice into the cab and slid in behind him. Firing the engine up was normally a pleasure for him, but right now he couldn't take the time to appreciate it. He cranked the wheel and gave the truck a little extra gas to shorted its wide turn radius, gaining a slight tire sequel and a minor tail flick. He straightened out and pulled onto the street, heading towards the house. He didn't try to show off, though he was quite skilled with the grey beast, he simply drove as he normally did. Sasha always badgered at him for driving to fast, but he'd never been ticketed, never wrecked, and so he continued to drive how he was comfortable. |
