This whole episode is a perfect example as to why it is seldom a good idea to take matters into your own hands; particularly if other options are available. I realize that sometimes you don't have a choice; for instance, I am a gun-owner and if someone breaks into my house and I am in fear of my life you better believe I'd go for my 40-caliber S&W Sigma and deal with the intruder. I might be dead if I just called the cops and waited for them!

I am also dismayed that Joel and Kyle failed to learn the lesson from last month when they had the day off from school as Seniors and Luke and Cody got nailed trying to play hookey and join them. (Remember how Joel and Kyle covered for Luke and Cody when Joel's neighbor lady showed up at Joel's house that day?) History apparently just repeated itself.

(Also, to Joel and Kyle; if interested, I posted some follow-up in the other thread about the time I nearly threw my dad overboard when I was learning to drive a boat.)
