In answer to the question as to whether or not I have ever gotten a ticket; yes, I got a speeding ticket back in 1998 for doing 76 in a 55 (which you guys should have already known about since I mentioned it in my intro thread). And yes, I had it "fixed" by hiring an attorney.

What your attorney does is "plea bargain" the charge (speeding) from a moving violation to a non-moving violation. (Perhaps Steve could explain it better; if you have anything to add, please do.) It is expensive to do this but IMHO it is worth it.

As to whether or not Luke's dad will spank Luke, that's up to Luke's dad. I would say he is within his rights to do so since Luke's getting a ticket affects his dad's car insurance rates. If I was Luke's dad, Luke wouldn't be sitting down for awhile but he wouldn't be sitting down for an even longer time if he didn't tell me and the insurance company jacked up the rates and I found out why when I called my agent and he told me.
