Hey Steve. I understand what you are saying here but I want you to think about something as you have advised the kids not to tell Joel's father what happened. First, given the way Kyle has already been shooting his mouth off, is the possibility that Joel's father will hear about this on the grapevine. Don't you think it would be better if Joel's dad heard it directly from Joel and his buddies rather than through the grapevine in a roundabout way?

Also, you are the father of five. Are you going to stop being concerned about them after their 18th birthdays?

Your advice that the guys take matters into their own hands also concerns me as the coach might walk in on the situation at the wrong time and it would be the others in trouble and not Kyle. Now, I realize that sometimes in life we have to take risks; after all, that was the point I was trying to make to Joel when I told him he needed to confront Kyle's dad about the dirty looks and the comments he was unfairly directing at Joel. However, if there is a less risky way of handling a situation, shouldn't that be pursued first?

Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I'll be thinking of you come Sunday as it is Father's Day and with Jason, Alex, and the triplets I hope you have a Happy Father's Day. I ask you to be thinking of me the next two Sundays as a week from this Sunday is the third anniversary of my father's death. Again, thanks for this forum and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Your friend,
Bill
