Thanks for the welcome, Steve. I have been trying to do my share of dispensing advice to the "kids" on the forum too, although I should caution that my personal philosophy might be a little more conservative but I think I can back up most of what I say from my life and family experiences. Speaking of which, I STRONGLY encourage you to talk to your two older kids about drugs. Remember that I was about the same age they are now when I tried smoking for the first time. My older brother offered me that first cigarette and the next thing I knew I was in front of a cigarette machine depositing my 80 cents for that first pack that my parents later found in my room.

My niece had a baby boy last December and she was in town last weekend. I finally got to see the little guy. It was a real unique experience. I held his mother when she was a baby and here she is with a baby of her own. I just wish my father and my brother could have been here. (My father passed away in 2007 and my brother committed suicide in 2006.) We showed my mother the pictures later; she is currently in a skilled nursing facility for rehab after a urinary tract infection. She is getting stronger and I hope she gets to come home soon.

One thing I think you can help me with is trying to explain to some of the guys on the list what it is like to hold a baby in your arms. To me, it is the COOLEST AND MOST AWESOME experience but I don't even think words can describe it. I know you are a dad so you know what I am talking about.

If you need help, why not enlist the help of some of these young whipper snappers here? I know some high schools do the "egg thing" or maybe the "doll thing" but I'll bet if some of these guys had to actually change a real diaper on a real baby, they might think twice about it if they ever got any ideas about having sex before marriage. :D
