Hey Rick,
I spent the night at Joel's after our basketball game last night, right now Joel is in the shower, so I'll try to explain things, and hope you are not too much more mad at me?

I had no idea that Joel was going to have a "talk" with his dad, and maybe now Joel thinks it backfired as I don't think he was really looking to have his dad give his ass a paddling. He wanted a father/son talk I guess, I didn't know he was having one with his dad, and must be his conscience bothered him for paddling me, since Jan. 22. I was mad at him at first that night, but realized he was thinking of me as a "Big Brother" to teach me a lesson, and I forgave him for paddling me Jan. 22. It was never brought up again, until you, Dave and Steve started chewing my ass out and Joel's ass out recently.
I have no hard feelings against you, Dave or Steve for doing that. You were acting like responsible Big Brothers and friends/buddies. I guess you guys really got to Joel for him to want to talk with his dad, and yes I think it backfired on him!

I didn't even know what was going on, all of a sudden my dad storms into my room and yells for me to get my ass into the car that Joel's dad called and we were going over to their house. I asked my dad what was going on, but he was mad as hell and said to me, "you'll find out young man when we get there" and told me to grab the "attitude adjustment" paddle. I tried talking to my dad in the car, but he wouldn't talk. He was so mad, he almost drove another car off the road and not paying attention to his driving.
When we got to Joel's house my dad hauled me in and we met Joel's dad and followed him to Joel's room. It was there both our dad's took turns chewing Joel and me out for the McDonalds happening and asking questions to sort out what happened!
My dad told me I put Joel in danger egging him on to kick that dude's ass, etc. and that I shouldn't had put a good friend like Joel at risk. I admitted I did that and I was sorry for doing it. It was stupid of me to do that to Joel and wouldn't blame him one bit if he didn't want to be friends with me! He said he would continue to.
Joel tried to defend me, but it was a lost cause with our dad's. My dad said he was glad that Joel paddled me and he was going to have Joel do it again to me, after he paddled me for putting Joel in danger of fighting.

Joel's dad was mad that Joel paddled me, said it wasn't his responsibility to do that to me, so he was going to paddle Joel for paddling me. He was proud that Joel didn't fight the dude, too. But he wanted Joel to remember not to be fighting someone who provokes him, and to help Joel's dad was mad at me for putting Joel on the spot to egg him on to fight, and he was mad at Joel not going to get someone to talk to the dude and not taking responsiblity doing so, so Joel was going to get paddled by his dad for that for not being responsible.
I guess it comes down to this, I (Luke) got paddled by my dad for being the jerk to put Joel in danger of fighting the dude and egging the kid on, and he wanted Joel to paddle me (even again) to make it up to Joel for putting him in danger of a fight.
Joel got paddled for not being responsible to get help and he got paddled for paddling me the first time, even though my dad said it was fine that Joel did. My dad told Joel's dad that he wanted Joel to paddle me again for the hurt I might have caused Joel, and Joel's dad said if that was what my dad wanted then Joel could paddle me.

Why do you figure I should have been paddled by Joel's dad and not Joel when my dad agreed Joel should paddle me the second time?
Yes, my dad has never paddled me bare ass in front of Joel or any other friend.
After our dad's left I felt bad, and told Joel I was sorry that he got paddled and chewed out by his dad, and causing trouble. I asked him to forgive me and he. He must have not been to mad as he asked to have me stay over night, thought buddies should be together at time like this.
I had mixed feelings seeing Joel get the first paddling. I felt sorry for him and was in awe some that he and I were sharing a paddling together.
When I had to paddle him I felt bad and almost couldn't do it, until Joel coache me and did the football excuse paddling remark I did last Fall when I asked my dad to paddle me toget out of grounding to attend the unscheduled football practice Joel put together, so Joel said it would be alright to paddle him and he would not hold it against me.
I almost bawled,had watery eyes giving Joel that paddling. I must credit Joel, after all was done he gave me a brotherly hug and even his dad. Whow!
So I deserve an ass chewing from you Rick and don't blame you NOT wanting to be friends with me, if that is what you want?
