Hey Bill,

About ready to leave for school, but saw your message, so will answer quickly as I'll be driving Joel to school today.

To be truthful, and I'm not knocking any of my team mates or myself,and saying they or me aren't really, really good at high school varsity baseball to make the majors but, the truth of the matter is: I believe the scout is coming to see/watch Joel play.

In my books, as good as an all-around, born-natural athlete Joel is, he's Major League material. He is a born/God given talented homerun hitter and a heck of a first baseman!

You look at the forum games posted and who has been hitting the most homeruns on the team this year-it's Joel!

Also, Joel helped his team last year win a State Championship in baseball! He hit homeruns that year and got the winning run to win the title!

As for the rest of us on this years' varsity team with Joel, everyone is playing great baseball, our record shows it, etc., so I would like to think the coming scout will give all of us a "look"! But, I bet the real attention will be to see Joel, and I believe Joel will down-play that!

What is cool about Joel is, he's NOT a swell-head, doesn't brag about what a great ball player he is, doesn't knock fellow team mates and will help to make them look good more, instead of himself, even if they are great athletes in their own rights!

Yes, it would be cool to see all or some of us on TV playing in the majors, but if anyone has a shot at it, it's going to be Joel!

Nothing has been announced yet in the Forum, but soon your going to see some guys playing college baseball and other sports listed!

I would hope next year, after I graduate, that I have a shot at the college sports fields!

As for us guys using smokeless tobacco? Are you talking about chewing tobacco? If so, the answer would be "NO!" for any of us guys on our high school baseball team.

Using such would be against school policy/sports rules in our school high. Also, anyone trying to use it could get caught as we are checked unannounced and given drug tests in all sports we play in.

As for a wad of anything in our mouths while we play, we do bubble gum and sunflower seeds. You should see our dugout with all of the sunflower seeds shells spit on the floor.

May I ask? I assume you played school sports? Did you & buddies try using smokeless tobacco? If so, how'd you get by without smell being detected by coaches?

So your a Cardinal fan, huh? I don't have a particular team.

Would like to ask a question, and I hope I don't hit a sore spot, what are your thoughts about Mark M. using steroids to enhance his playing ability for St. Louis before retiring?

If you look back in Archives, I'm blaming him some for putting ideas into Joel's grandpa's head for giving Joel a razor strap whipping last Thanksgiving time to remind Joel "not to use of abuse legal drugs" if you look back to November 2009. It was bout the time Mark M. admitted he did steriods and that got Joel's grandpa going and giving him an uncalled for ass whipping!
