Sat.,3-2-20l0

Hey Big Brothers,

I had been having a bad head cold, sore throat, chills, etc. for two days prior to our high school basketball game Tuesday, 3-2-20l0, which many of you knew in a separate post message, and I said that if I was not allowed to practice I could not play in game, so I hide my health problems without to much difficulty from my parents and coaches so I could play in final reagular season game away, PLUS I was told by my Coach that I was 20 points shy of being the FIRST MEMBER of high school varsity basketball team to be member of "l,000 point Basketball Club in school history, so I did not want to miss playing at all in the game.

For meds I was taking medicine chest legal drugs and was doing okay, but not improving alot but okay in practices and when night of game came Tuesday, 3-2-20l0 I was able to play without too much difficulty and scored 9 points in the game.

It was in the locker room after the game I sorta collasped with heaviness to my chest, which when I was taken to the hospital and it was discovered in tests runned that my lungs were experiencing infection/congestion, BUT NOT LIVE THREATENING FOR A YOUNG ATHLETEe like me, so to help me get some drugs in my ill boddy a doctor game me a shot in my butt, which I did very little protesting about, to help get me started back on the road to recover, and doctors decided they wanted to keep me over night for observation while giving me other antibiotics to see how I would react and could be released and allowed to rest and recover at my house.

The following morning I was released to go home, but I failed to ask if a young high school age nurse or candy striper might be assigned to me to help me recover!

I was released and ordered to bed rest at home and to make sure my team mates did not get whatever I had, if it was catchy, they would be told they could not visit me at my house! I was ordered to stay IN BED and REST and no fooling around to get better if I wanted to be well to play in our next basketball game, which would be in district play-off tournament and we drew a BYE to play in the semi-final game on Wed., 3-l0-20l0 and if we win would advance to championship game on Friday, March 12.

My dad laid down the "law" to go with doctors orders to help me recover, that my "little ass better cooperate and do what I'm told to, rest in bed and not get out of it when I'm told to stay in bed or when I get better that something unpleasant will happen to my little ass and it will be very uncomfortbale for me and it (my little ass)and it will teach me a lesson to follow orders and do what I'm told to next time!"

I think we can guess what that happening experience might be?

GEEZ!

So since Wednesday morning to today, Saturday, March 6, I have not been in school and the bed rest and medicine I have been receiving is helping my lung infection to clear up and hopefully I will be back to normal by Monday and maybe return to school! All doing this time I have been one sick little dude and sleeping alot, and staying in bed so something doesn't happen to my little ass, until today when I've been allowed up and out, and writing this message real quick and not being discovered as my folks could look at me using the computer as entertainment/fun time and enjoying myself and being serious about my recovery. I'm looking at this as my link to the outside world of my bedroom to letting Big Brothers know what has been happening to me and why they haven't heard from me sooner this week to leave them a message here!

I would appreciate hearing from you Big Brothers and other buddies to leave me messages and PRAYERS to help me recover.

I have learned that it would have been better to share my other health questions prior to basketball practices and the game, and I've learned a value lesson from this experience!

Why does it seem I always need some kind of a "wakeup call" to realize what I should have really done in the first place before all of this stuff started?

Best bud/big brother Kyle doesn't have a computer to post message to you, but Luke was suppose to and now we discover he has FAILED on his assignement to post and leave a messsage on this website to let you know what has been going on before now. Kyle is wondering what Luke's fate/punshiment should be, if it is not a good excuse why he didn't leave a message for you guys, so any ideas what it should be?

I guess I better keep this short, so I'm siging off!

-Joel (Help!)
