Well, dad never lifted my license for 30 days (that seems a bit stiff a penalty, was there more to it than speeding?) but given the option, I'd take the paddle. Opted a few times back in HS days to get out of detention.

Ya'll never a big deal with me either. I was not the only guy & when we knew it happended, yep we wanted details.

Paddling had to be my first at age 9 for swiping candy at a store. Having never felt it before, it was scary for sure going over dad's leg & him pulling down my jeans & briefs to wallop good my bare bottom. Any with the belt bare ass qualified but the few after a school paddling rekindled the fire in my butt.
