Hi Steve,

I'm just SICK to hear what happened to Joel. After I heard, I asked Joel if I could sleep over and keep him company, Kyle was going to, so Joel said "sure!"

I'd like to ask my dad why Joel's grandpa did what he did, but I don't want him to phone Joel's dad seeing how Joel wants to keep it quiet for awhile.

Steve, I know I'm just a kid, l7yrs. old, but I can't get it out of my mind how Joel's grandpa treated him like he did, whipped his butt for nothing, Joel doesn't do drugs or has or never will.

Can you help me to understand why Joel's grandpa did what he did? If he loves Joel, he never would have done what he did to him?

I don't know, maybe this is none of my business, but when you see a best friend like Joel has been to me, get hurt, or short of almost abused, then I don't understand why this had to happen.

Joel doesn't hurt anyone. Man, he sure has helped me in sports and before that I never had anyone who would help me like he did to become a "really good athlete" like Joel is saying that I am. I'm so proud of him helping me to become a starter on the basketball team. I bet he had a hand in "talking" coach into letting me have the position as it was for grabs!
