Subject: Vietnam wife ask for maintenance fee if divorce

TKG1700 also knew a case when stumbled into a pupular forum in Singapore where a guy Nicolas seeking help divorcing vietnam bride for his cousin last year. Nicolas cousin was 40+ and still single and thus he recommeded him to get a vietnam wife somewhere in year 2007. They gone through an agent and selected a young vietnam village girl. They tied the knot quickly and as usual, dowry paid and the bride even demand the '4p gold'. Nicolas cousin having already paid the agent $7k and all neccessary travelling fees, obliged and fork another 2k plus for the gold as a token of goodwill. Everything was ready and awaiting the traditional customary wedding dinner, etc. However, the vietnam bride couldn't get along with the mother in law, and also prompting want to find a job. Thus after 4months of stay, the vietnam bride was pregnant but still decide to run back to vietnam. Nicolas cousin tried to call back her but not successful. Two years later, the vietnam wife suddenly called Nicolas cousin and said wanted to meet him in vietnam. She has born him a son. Nicolas together with his cousin flew to see her and his child with a translator. Nicolas was posted there working in a cafe. During the meeting, the vietnam bride claimed she would not want to return and wanted to work. And no doubt it was Nicolas cousin son. After the meeting, the vietnam wife asked Nicolas cousin whether can give her $2000, and Nicolas cousin spared the $2000 as she has to take care of the child. After the meeting, when went back to hotel, the translator revealed that the vietnam wife also mentioned will she be entitled maintainece if divorce! Nicolas cousin flew back and after contract over, Nicolas also come back to singapore. In year 2000, Nicolas posted request whether if anybody has experience divorcing a vietnam wife and lawyer fee in a forum. A lot of suggestions given and in year 2011, Nicolas accompany his cousin to engage a lawyer to initiate the divorce. It maybe a another $2.5k and if successful, Nicolas cousin can remarry again if in future. TKG1700 also sensed Nicolas feeling bit of guilt to his cousin as he recommended to getting a vietnam bride and landed in such mess. TKG1700 has learnt that its total of 4year gone into waste, and marriage can be easy, but coming to divorce, it not easy. Nicolas cousin can now wait for the Interim Judgement which could take few months, only if the vietnam wife do not want to contest the divorce. But will she...???
