Subject: Story of Mao Zai Vietnam Wife

One is a bachelor, another is a Vietnam girl secretly smuggle to china to earn money. The desire of marriage, have a family and the temptation of money, heaven had formulated these two different social life style people together in a poor village in China. A dramatic show had emerged in this peaceful simple village.
This happen in JiangXi of China, and the main character is Mao Zai, who ‘bought’ the marriage with a Vietnam girl Xiao Lan some twenty days ago.
Mao Zai is a single bachelor of age 32+ and worked as a farmer. Ocassionaly he help in his elder sister shop. Xiao Lan is a Vietnam girl that work in China illegally to earn money to escape poverty. Mao Zai is single and poor, and was said to have a look like Andy Lau (chinese pop star), quite a lot of girls from the same village like him. But once strike a conversation, Mao Zai is disappointed. He is very shy, and sometime get tongue-twisted, and some girl even teased him saying “Mao Zai, but only if you have RMB $30,0000 I will marry you”.
Vietnam girl Xiao Lan, not known to Mao Zai a gold digger, claimed was borned in Year 1985. She is 1.55m tall, and according to Mao Zai, he said she look like 30+, not that pretty, and also not that ugly, of normal average looking.
At an age of 32, Mao Zai had never touched any girl before, and had no girlfriends or relationship. Some people said he is just too honest, and very shy when meet with girls, so words don’t come easy when converse with girls.
When after working, Mao Zai hobby was to go to nearby village to catch some movies, particulary kong-fu movies. But he won’t watch love movie, claiming that “don’t have a wife, watching such movies will get irritated..”
Not just loneliness, sometimes Mao Zai was poked fun by neighbours: “Mai Zai, you cousin at age 20+ is already a father, you are 32+, why have you not get married?” Mao Zai was sad whenever he heard this, and the only way he can do was hide in his room, or go somewhere else. Xiao Lan was introduced by his aunt Feng Xi Yue, someone whom Mao Zai trusted. At times Mao Zai went ‘headless’ and even called his aunt Feng Xi Yue, “Aunt, can you help me quickly get a wife, even bought one…”
Around early Jan 2009, Feng Xi Yue got a call from her relative, from another village. The relative told Feng Xi Yue “Someone from our village got a Vietnam girl for RMB$20000, she also brought a relative of hers, are you interested?” After some ‘investigation’, it was found out that somewhere 20days ago, a 36 year old man Wang Ming had bought a Vietnam girl called Nguyen Xiao Fang. Wang Ming is 4years older than Mao Zai, with same characteristic: honest, no culture, no money and has old aged parents.
Feng Xi Yue was delighted to hear this and went to Wang Ming home. That day, Xiao Lan was wearing a red checkered village shirt, and a black jacket. Feng Xi Yue look at her and was quite happy, thinking “cheap and good”. But Feng Xi Yue was quite skeptical, and worried as Mao Zai is honest and could easily being bullied. However, Xiao Lan, who can speak simple chinese, pretentiously said she want to marry honest man. She even claimed that Vietnam man always beat up their wife, and honest man would not. When Feng Xi Yue asked Xiao Lan how she learned to speak chinese, she cunningly said that in Vietnam, there are a lot of chinese factory, and that’s where she picked up chinese.
Feng Xi Yue entrusted $600 to Wang Ming and quickly called Mao Zai to come over to have a look. At that time, Mao Zai was working in Guang Zhou helping his elder sister, but his elder sis was not very convinced. She said, “There is no documents or anything to proof her identity, what if it’s a marriage scam?” But Mao Zao still insisted to go ahead.
When Mao Zai met Xiao lan, he thought he met someone special. Because previously Feng Xi Yue introduce some girls that was either some ‘dumb-witted’ or girls with a little disability, he chosen Xiao Lan. He set a bottom limit, be it ugly, divorce are still acceptable, but certainly not disability or ‘dumb-witted’. He asked Xiao Lan, “Why you don’t have an ID or passport?”, she replied, “Oh, I actually smuggle into here, it will take two month for me to get an ID.”
Mao Zai believed her, and thought he had a bargain, took out his whole life saving of RMB$20000+, to Nguyen Xiao Fang, Wang Ming Vietnam wife. Nguyen Xiao Fang without even counting the money, instantly put the money into her pocket!
Without any registration, no wedding ceremony, Mao Zai eventually married Xiao Lan and stayed together. The next day after the marriage, Mao Zai neighbor overlook Xiao Lan with high make up and dress, comented “she ain’t a decent girl”. Some said, “she is a pigeon, will fly away one day”. Others speak badly. “She look like a whore, I may have met her somewhere…”
Feng Xi Yue wouldn’t be bothered by the neighbours comment, and said, “give a chance to people, if they are willing to turn over a new leaf. Maybe if we are nice to her, she would stay..”
Those few days, feng xi yue was very nice to xiao lan, giving her money, buying her handphone, dress, sometime $300, $600, and even a ring, that demand $1500.
Xiao Lan mouth was sweet, always “Aunt”, “Uncle”, and Feng Xi Yue loose her survellience on her slowly. Everytime when met with neighbours, Xiao Lan would always call them ge ge , or brother in Chinese. She even bought sweets to neighbours children and even played together. But people also noticed something amiss, is that Xiao Lan is also ‘quite lazy’. Example, she want to eat two half boiled egg every morning, and would just watch television after food. And she would only wash her clothes, but Feng Xi Yue thought that may be just too trivial.
Once a raining day, Xiao Lan want to bring Mao Zai to a pub to have some fun, together with Wang Ming and his Vietnam wife. Mao Zai reluctantly joined and have some beer. When the music was played, Xiao Lan was dancing wonderfully like a pro. Mao Zai noticed Xiao Lan love dancing particularly. That night in bed, Mao Zai played some VCD music and Xiao Lan was inside the room, after coloring her fingernails, suddenly dancing as if inside a disco in front of him. Mao Zai had a strong mixed feeling that something is not that right. He got a feel, “oh no, this girl must have been playing outside for quite a time, not just a simple village girl”
At this time, Feng Xi Yue started to become suspicious. She noticed Xiao Lan would chalked up more than $20 handphone bills in just 1 or 2 days, and suspect Xiao Lan actually had been staying in China for more than one two years!
One day Xiao Lan brought two Vietnam girls and would like to introduce to those single bachelor. But Feng Xi Yue stop it, and Xiao Lan was not happy, even accused why Aunt don’t want to tie knots for others. Feng Xi Yue explained that “well, you people don’t do any works here, while we are just simple village people, how to feed you all…?” Some bachelor were quite ‘smart’ to notice that, since those girls got no identification, it is most likely cheats and they could just run away easily one day. They quickly backed off.
However Xiao Lan was quick to realized that she was being suspected, denied everything and said their documents were held up by custom and have to wait for 2 months to collect it back. The simple and honest villagers didn’t take any steps further to validate with their local authorities!
Mao Zai 'honeymoon' was short life and lasted only 20days. That was his happiest moment.
Then real disaster strike some 20days later, when Wang Ming Vietnam wife, Xiao Fang suddenly went missing without any trace. According to Wang Ming, he brought her to outside town Li Zhou and after lunch, Xiao Fang said she wanted to buy something and just gone, never return back. And when Mao Zai found out Wang Ming Vietnam wife had run away, his too was gone. Wang Ming and few of his relatives searches everywhere for Xiao Fang at pubs and even take note of cars passes by to track his wife but were all effortless.! They got call grom Guang Zhou said local authorities caught some vietnam girls who worked illegally but none were those they are looking for.
Mao Zai even received a call from Xiao Lan who had the cheek to ask him to top up her phone card as she is running out of money! Crazily, Mao Zai topped up for her but $20! After a few days, all their effort to locate their Vietnam wife were down to the drain….They disappeared into the air and could no longer be found.
Wang Ming mother cried and even reprimanded him “now you have got us into this…the $20000+ was borrowed from friends and relatives nearby!" However the villages were sympathetic and kind enough said “nevermind, just treat it as gamble and lost, money can be earn and return later..”
After this incident, Mao Zai is poorer now and still wifeless. He said he will worked hard, shrimped and saved money, maybe $50000 to get a wife, but CERTAINLY not from abroad! When asked “aren’t you scared she run away again, Mao Zai reply was as long as give him a child, she can run as far as she like…"
