Just got back today and there was some close racing and a few suprises in Evadale. Kevin Cram quailfied #1 with a 4.79 followed by Rob Valdon #2 with a 4.83.
All the boys were running real good as well including Justin Curry, Chad Revia, Kyle Huettel, which were all in the 4.80s'. First round saw Kevin Cram against Big Al Sneed when Kevin red lit and Sneed running a stout 4.94 pass. Kevin was prolly kicking himself as he went 4.78 low for the round until 2nd rd. Rob V, Justin C, Chad R made it past round one all with low 4.80's the fastest being Justin C with a 4.80. Kyle got a lucky break when he lit the tires up against Themo who was having problems as well but Kyle got the win. Which set up some awsome 2nd match ups. First was Kyle H and Rob V and Rob the faster and higher quailfier was stunned along with everyone esle when Kyle H got his problems figured out and layed down a very impressive 4.67(lowest for the race). Then it was Justin C vs Chad R with Justin having lane choice of the faster pair but when Justin done his burnout had no oil pressure and was forced to give Chad the win. Big Al Sneed lined up against Jimmy Gardner who hadnt made it down the track all day long when he laid down a very impressive 4.83 against Sneed who had his hands full with nothing but sky and was forced to lift when the car made a move towards the wall.
The racing was great thru the night and into the semis where Kyle H was suppose to had the bye into the final when there was a conflict and Kyle was forced to run Chad R when Kyle broke the tranny about 3/4 ways down and Chad won with a 4.79. Chad went on to win against Jimmy G who had his share of problems as well. This makes it 3 in a row for Chad but watchout cause Kyle H and others are coming on strong. Also 9 fingers Naiser(Jeff Naiser) and Turbo Todd Moyer were there with there XTF cars laying down some test passes as Jeff went 4.14 and Todd did one better with a 4.11@190mph!!! Was some great racing and some awsome numbers laid down!!
