There's a disturbing string on allnurses.com about unnecessary nudity. One of the older nurses was very frustrated with some student nurses and a some beginning nurses for their lack of concern for the patients' modesty.

One example she gave was the continuing habit of these younger ones who are assigned to some intimate procedure on a male patient. It could be a bath, a catheterization, or some other task that requires exposure. She said they will often go in, uncover the poor guy, then proceed to get set-up for whatever they are assigned to do. Meanwhile, the man is lying there exposed for the whole time it takes for her get ready to do the job, an extra ten minutes or more.

The older nurse said she tries to tell them to uncover the patient last, after everything is set up for the task.
But no, they persist in doing it their way, letting the patient remain exposed for much longer than necessary.

This reveals the attitude of some of these younger girls.
The older nurses were, and still are, concerned about the patients' modesty. The younger ones seem to think that if he is going to be exposed anyhow, they might as well do it from the start. They don't seem to understand that the extra exposure time does make a difference to the patient.
