(Unnecessary nudity) Author: Sam [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 02:37:46 08/23/09 Sun I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but how MEDICALLY necessary is it for a teenager to have a hernia exam? I've heard many medical professionals say that it isn't nearly as necessary as many people think. Many have said that if a teenager actually gets a hernia he will definitely know it. In my experience most school sports physicals are not very thorough but for some reason a hernia check is ALWAYS given. I would like to hear from medical professionals how important they believe a hernia check is for teenagers. I'm not here to ask opinions on the ethics involved or whether or not they are psychologically damaging or whether or not the doctor and/or nurse are perverts or pediphyles.
