Vincent L. Bell
Port Chester - Vincent (Vinnie) L. Bell, age 89, passed away in his home on February 1, 2021.
Vinnie was born on October 27, 1931 to the late Vincenzo Iacobelli and Mariee (DiDonato) Iacobelli, the second of four sons. A lifelong resident of Port Chester, he graduated from the Port Chester school system as well as serving in our armed forces during the Korean War.
Vinnie was a gifted artist in the field of animation and became one of the top animators in the industry. He started his career with Terrytoons where he worked on cartoons such as Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle. Some of his other notable works were The Lizzy McGuire and The SchoolHouse Rock animated cartoons.
Earlier in his career, he animated short films that were nominated for academy awards such as "The Old Man and the Flower" and his favorite "The Jazz Musician".
Vinnie played the piano, sang and arranged music for the Port Chester Council for the Arts Castle Chorus.
Vinnie is survived by his children Scott, Stephen (Lisa) and Leslie and three grandchildren - Julia, Emily and Liam and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Michael, Anthony and John.
Vinnie Bell's mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at St. Paul's Church, 84 Sherwood Ave, Greenwich CT 06831. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North St. Rye NY 10580.
